The urge within

The urge within is to fight like a bull
But all around are cheeky, haughty simians
Scratching their own backs
And swinging on frail twigs

The urge within is to take forward the legion
But all I see is a chirpy little bird
That tweets from its nest
And staring at the world

The urge within is to fire the cannons
But all I find is a raw of crackers
Waiting for kids to spark the blaze
And go up in smoke with much ado

The urge within is to scale the Everest
And how sad! I’m lying in a range of sand dunes
That may go up in whirls
With a gale from the vales

The urge within is to laugh out loud
But lo and behold!
There goes a funeral rally
Of a man died of over-living!
