Rave parties: The new cult!

It has become a cult of sorts in this part of the world, these rave parties.  Only a few weeks ago, a rave party was raided in a farmhouse on the outskirts of the city, followed by arrests of scores of youngsters in a city pub.
The shocking images of girls being manhandled by moral police in Mangalore are still fresh in our memories.  And here comes yet another one.
At least 10 members at a rave party, attended mainly by foreigners, were detained in the picturesque Manikaran Valley of Himachal Pradesh, according to reports.
A news agency quoted Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar as saying that blood and urine samples of 10 people were taken after the raid in Kullu district Saturday.
Police suspect there were 300 people at the party held close to Kasol village, 42 km from Kullu town. Cigarettes, bottles of alcohol and tracks of trance music were seized, a police official was quoted as saying.
The Manikaran Valley, some 275 km from state capital Shimla, is notorious for poppy cultivation and rave parties.
High income and a morbid tendency of doing all things bad and ugly are driving more and more youngsters to rave parties. Sex, booze and dopes have become the order of the day.
Oh Lord, forgive them, they do not know what they do!
