Even gods here are bribed!

In what looks like an apparent move to save his otherwise crumbling business empire, Indian liquor baron Vijaya Mallya made a huge offering to the God - a carved golden door for the sanctum sanctorum of a temple in his native Karnataka, far south of India.

The business tycoon whose aviation enterprise is on the verge of a breakdown visited the Kukke Subrahmanya temple near Sulya in South Kanara district of Karnataka and donated the golden door of the temple as a part of his Sankalpa.

When reporters asked him, Mallya reportedly said he had visited the temple to pay obeisance before the deity, humbly refusing to comment further. It is rumored that this South Indian Richie rich has plans to offer another pair of gold-plated doors to the temple if his wishes come true.

It may be remembered that another super rich minister and mining baron who gifted a huge golden corn studded with all precious stones worth several crores of rupees years ago is cooling his heels in the dark dungeon in Hyderabad!

Hope God will not take the same revenge this time. After all, the king of all good times, has been supplying liquor unlimited to the alcoholic populace of India!
