Care2 says save India's tigers...

The act-fast, mine-now attitude of India's coal industry could forfeit hundreds of thousands of forest acres--all for a coal supply that hasn't been determined. Making a hasty decision will wipe out endangered tiger habitats and devastate forest communities, which is why the coal industry needs to step back and deliberate.

Stop an impatient coal industry from mining too much, too soon! »

The biggest threat to the world's 1,700 remaining tigers is coal mining, as 35% of these tigers live in the forests that mining projects will destroy. But, the frightening aftermath of mining isn't preventing an overeager coal industry from mining without a plan, and without caution.

India's Prime Minister has the authority to protect endangered tigers, leopards, and elephants from reckless mining. Issuing a moratorium on mining projects until forests are properly assessed will save India's species, rivers, and air quality from falling victim to corrupt mining projects.

Tell India's Prime Minister to halt all new coal block allocations and forest clearances until clear boundaries are agreed upon!»

Thanks for taking action!
