Sex, sleaze reign Bollywood!

Silver screens are flooded with vulgarity to the brim. And I really don’t understand why critics term raunchy films ‘sex comedies’. Sex is beautiful and divine guys, if you do not know.  But Bollywood movies of late are showing what supposed to be ‘sensual and sublime’ female bodies as horny mass to gratify perverts’ carnal desires and ‘masculine and majestic’ men’s bodies as sex toys for some nymphomaniacs.

Take for example, the latest flick that is creating ripples in the tinsel town - Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum, a sequel to her 2005 hit Kya Kool Hain Hum.  Bawdy dialogues, nauseating skin shows and naughty twists make this shoddy film a big letdown for cultured lots.
The producer, Ekta Kapoor, and her tawdry comedy have been in the news ever since the release of her film's promo itself!
"We never had issues in the film's first part. I think our society was so much cooler at that time," Ekta, who was quite sure that her film would get an 'A' certificate, reportedly told a news agency.
"I think sex comedies in India have gone through a very interesting phase of 'Delhi Belly', through a lot of humour even in 'Love Sex aur Dhokha', then we dealt with adult comedy in a very biopic kind of way in 'The Dirty Picture'. Now I think we have hit a roadblock! My film doesn't even have sexual humour. It is just an adult comedy,” Kapoor was quoted as saying.
This is not the first time, Bollywood sees such adult movies. In the recent past, films like "Masti", "Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai", "Mumbai Matinee", "No Entry" and "Mirch" dealt with sex and sleazy comedy.
The agency quoted film historian S M M Ausaja as saying: "This genre hasn't moved beyond the kitschy stuff. I remember Basu Chatterjee's 'Shaukeen' to be a good effort, but the same director couldn't recreate the magic with 'Gudgudee'."
However, front benchers cram the fleapits to have a dekko of those shiny skins and stimulating curves that they never get to see in real life, making the films a safe bet for producers.
But sadly, our all-curious youngsters of present time make the best of such movies and gosh, try to emulate in their lives. No wonder so many stories of sexual violence are coming out from our campuses!
