From princes to paupers, everyone seems to be addicted to
Facebook. While some use it to keep
others posted about their whereabouts, some others use it to chat or read a
joke. While parents use it to find out if their wards are going wayward,
teenagers find it a way to keep connected with their lovers round the clock!
But above all, it’s a platform for jilted lovers to spy
on their boyfriends, says a new study. According
to 25-year-old Veronika Lukacs, a student at University of Western Ontario in
Canada, around 90 per-cent of lovers spy on photos and status messages of their
former boyfriends or girlfriends on Facebook, says a report in the Daily Mail.
She made the study result public in a Master's thesis she
submitted to the university.
Lukacs, whose thesis is titled "It's Complicated:
Romantic breakups and their aftermath on Facebook", said her analysis
proved that breakups had serious social implications, according to the report.
She also found that 48 percent of people remain Facebook
friends with their ex after they break up and 74 percent also tried to check
out their former lover's new flame.
