to get his or her name in the Guinness Book of World Record, here is an oddball
who found a novel way to get the acclaim! He has flaunted a shirt made of solid
gold worth over 8 crores Indian rupees (£14,000)!
The wealthy Pune man, 32-year-old money-lender Datta Phuge,
has made heads turn when he made his appearance, clad in golden shirt and
sporting heavy gold chains and bracelets. And Phuge hopes his new dazzling
addition to his wardrobe will make him a hit with the ladies!
Speaking to the Pune Mirror, he reportedly said: "I
know I am not the best looking man in the world but surely no woman could fail
to be dazzled by this shirt?"
The money-lender, from Pimpri-Chinchwad, told reporters that
the shirt took a team of 15 goldsmiths two weeks to make working 16 hours a day
creating and weaving the gold threads. It comes complete with its own matching
cuffs and a set of rings crafted from left-over gold.
Mr Phuge told the Pune Mirror, that the clothing will be “an
embellishment” to his reputation as the ‘Gold man of Pimpri’.” “The gold shirt
has been one of my dreams,” he was quoted as saying.
The shirt also features six Swarovski crystal buttons and a
solid gold belt.
